I am ready to take my last two finals today! I have reviewed as much as I can, and I hope I make the best grades possible. This semester has been great, but I am ready to move forward.
I can't wait until Christmas! I'm going to have some festival, which is a Jamaican dessert type of food which could be associated with the American funnel cake. It's really good, and I haven't had it since last year when I was there.
On Friday, I have a hair appointment. That will be the first time I'm not going to school on the makeup day. If only I had known the perfect attendance car drawing and whatever else only applied to seniors. Sigh....
Today I am going to Button Gwinnett to help the Delta Gems prepare snack bags for less fortunate children. It shouldn't take long, and I always love to help out in the community when I can. However, I'm glad I got all my community service hours done over Spring Break this year because then it would have just been confusion!
I have a WAIT Training meeting on Monday and since I missed the last one, I'm excited to return.
I hope everyone has a Happy Holidays! =) From food, to gifts, to family - I know I will!

Hobbies
I listened to my favorite song in the world for the first time in a long time. It's called "L.E.S. Artistes" and it's by an artist called Santigold. She really inspires me because she's black and makes alternative music. I truly feel like I'm one of a kind, and her music makes me feel like I'm not alone.
Although I'm way behind in the technological aspect, I just got a web cam! I may use it to talk to family face to face more often, but I'm hoping to make some videos. I did still ask my Auntie Karen for a camcorder for Christmas though.
I am currently reading a book called Cover Your Assets. I'm really enjoying it because it's a drama, mystery, and thriller all in one. Plus, it's about a Hollywood agent! Exactly what I need to make my wildest dreams come true. Unfortunately, said agent was murdered. =( His ex-girlfriend from college is trying to find out who killed him. I'm almost finished with it, but I don't really want it to end.
I really want to see Black Swan, a movie featuring the talented Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis among others. Ever since I found out Natalie filmed movies while she went to Harvard, I want to see all of her works.
Reality shows are going to get me through the break. lol I'm so glad Basketball Wives finally came back! It feels like it took forever to get here. Plus, Gossip Girl isn't coming back until January 24. =( Pretty Little Liars returns on January 3 though, and Damages looks interesting, even though it's premiering at ten on the night we go back to school.
I am still going through my list of albums. Yesterday, I listened to Lady Gaga's The Fame. It's a really fun dance album. She's so unique, so I kind of have to love her. Being your own person is important, and I'm glad she embraces it so well. Today's Amazon Daily Deal is Lazarus (also a store in NY) by Travie McCoy and I want to buy it because I also like Gym Class Heroes. He's the lead singer. When the leads have side projects, the bands usually part ways, but I hope they don't.
Making a habit of studying is something I need to work on. It's not going to be easy since I usually don't have to study, but I really want to start getting prepared for college. I have worked hard to get where I am, but I still need to maintain the goals I have set for myself.

The '90s
It was the glorious decade that I was born in. Unfortunately for me, I wish I had been a teenager during that time. It's a shame the mindless "entertainment" that comes out these days. There were plenty of real artists and visionaries back then. The television, music, books, and movies were all great. Cell phones and computers were minor blips in everyday life. Not having technology at arm's length would probably take some getting used to if I could time travel, but not if I'd never been so attached to it in the first place. Ah, I wish I hadn't been a mere kindergartner at the end of that wonderful decade and the millennium.
Yesterday, I listened to Nine Inch Nails all evening. The Downward Spiral is simply a masterpiece. I can't even choose a favorite song. It came out the day before I was born, which is also a bonus. Anyway, NIN's work is just amazing. It's a really different and surreal kind of music. Every time I listen to the band I feel like I'm on a different planet. This band influenced a favorite modern rock band of mine, Madina Lake. I love their instrumentals, and I could definitely hear how NIN influenced them. I definitely want to get more NIN albums.
Another '90s band I like is Soundgarden, who recently reunited after thirteen years apart. I'm so glad they made up! Kinda like blink-182. They released a greatest hits type album the other day, but greatest hits compilations always feature at least one or two new singles. I think "Black Rain" is pretty good. It doesn't sound quite like their older material, but it's pretty close. I'm not into anime, but the video was free on iTunes a month or so ago so I downloaded it. I also just found out that Krist Novoselic is going to be featured on the upcoming Foo Fighters album! I'm not a huge Foo Fighters fan, but Krist and Dave were in Nirvana together way back when and it was just nice to hear about them working together again.
I miss the cartoons too. I loved The Powerpuff Girls, Rugrats, Rocko's Modern Life, Hey Arnold...the list could go on. Pretty much anything on Nick or Cartoon Network. There were great primetime shows too like Fresh Prince, Ally McBeal, Living Single, and Friends. The Lion King and Forrest Gump came out in the same year. I remember going to the movies to see A Bug's Life and Mulan. Those were such simpler times, and I think it would be nice if society could take a look back and possibly mirror how things used to be. I don't want to be five again, but I think the world is in great need of repair in a plethora of ways.

Musical Chairs
These past few days have involved a lot of music, which I totally love. I've been listening to albums I haven't listened to all the way through before. I really like Back in Black, I understand why it's so critically acclaimed. I liked The All-American Rejects debut album, although I enjoyed Move Along a bit more. Everclear's So Much for the Afterglow was the perfect mix of pop and rock. B.o.B. Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray is one of the greatest albums I have heard in a while. It combines rap and pop rather nicely, and B.o.B is a phenomenal lyricist. I love his music as much Drake's. Almost. ;) I really do enjoy all of amazon.com's $5 deals.
On Friday, I went to see Hinder on post. I was only familiar with two of their songs, but their set was nice. I love that they covered "Hey Man, Nice Shot" by Filter and I actually recognized it. '90s music is the best. My mom isn't used to that kind of music, so watching her try to make the rock on sign and whatnot was quite hilarious. I was a little surprised by the elements of screamo I heard, because their earlier songs are more radio friendly, but I suppose they went in another direction with their sophomore album. We checked out the merchandise and then left. They stayed and signed autographs for a bit though.
Today I went to see Ludacris. I'm not a huge fan, but it's pretty cool to meet anyone that's famous in my opinion. There were so many people there, and I saw plenty of familiar faces. It took three and half hours just to get inside the PX! Plus I was freezing because I had a skirt on. I'm glad I got to see him though. We took a picture with him and apparently all of the pictures taken will be uploaded to Facebook, so I'll have to look for mine sometime tomorrow. He also signed autographs. A local group called Dirty Red performed outside. I had never heard of them before.
It was really nice of people to organize those events for the soldiers who just returned home. =)

The First
Woot woot! It's December baby! I'm so excited. This year has just flown by and I hope time keeps flying just as fast until May 2012.
The weather has really been testing my nerves lately. First it's hot, then it's cold. Like that Katy Perry song. lol
I've been thinking more and more about college lately. I got something in the mail from Columbia and I was totally freaking out. The school is in my top three and I'm getting more and more pumped to travel and explore. I've also been researching acting programs and possible auditions.
On Sunday, I got a 2011 It's Happy Bunny calendar! Yayzers! It was only five dollars in Wal-Mart. Talk about a bargain! If only they had shirts and other stuff too.... ='(
On December 10, I'm going to the Christmas Parade with the Delta Gems. Then on Sunday December 12, there's a Christmas concert at my church and a Christmas party I can't wait for! Hopefully the person I'm matched with for Secret Santa will buy me something I love love love.
For now, I'm concentrating on keeping my grades up as the semester comes to a close. I'm also glad my website is coming along nicely!
